i figured the start of a new life in a new city with a hot man deserved a new blog layout. well, here ya go folks. if things aren’t perfect yet, please be patient. as always it’s a work in progress - especially during a cross-country move.
my cute little macbook was only a few hours old, when it suffered it’s first beating with the finger darts. let me premise this with the fact, that earlier in the day, i had warned certain individuals - say our co-op who alwasy is slingin darts, that if they hit my new machine with a dart i would slap them. well towards the end of the day, a certain copy director of mine, pelted it dead center in the screen. i standing one cube section away, turned and screamed in horror as if someone had just hit my child. the entire office then looked up. it turns out the screen is quite durable thankfully. but the lovely co-op announces to everyone what i had said earlier. so people began chanting, “slap him! slap him!”. in case you are wondering, i did not slap my copy director. once he found out that it was my brand new personal computer and not a work laptop, he felt horrible. i politely told everyone that i had a feelin HR would have an issue with that and that i didn’t feel like getting fired right after i spent a fair chunk of change on a new machine.
my cute little black macbook came on friday and i luv it. it’s fabulous. now babygirl and i can videochat with mirm. my roomies have already used it to import video yesterday while i was at the pool. i’m a very happy kid. now i just have to install all the software, upload all my music, etc. now i won’t have to work late downtown by myself anymore.

i’m in luv with CS3. it is wonderful and fabulous and everything i have always wanted. we upgraded to CS3 and now work is just that much better. now if only i could upgrade at home… but i think after doing some research that my poor little mac is to old. so if you want to donate to the get renee a new mac fund, or pay me to mow your lawn, please feel free to contact me. i accept any and all donations. haha just kidding. maybe. but i do have a new reason to save money now for a new mac.
i also attended the marilyn monroe exhibit while it was in dayton. the exhibit showcased the pop art of andy warhol, her playboy photos, allen jones, peter blake, richard avedon and bert stern. the photos were gorgeous. she was so photogenic. the only disappointing factor, was that a good portion of the people viewing the show did not understand art. they avoided the wall of playboy photos like they were the plague. the photos were gorgeous with her lying amid beautiful bright red velvet. they also stated very openly their distaste for showing marliyn in anything but a beautiful happy light. the couldn’t even grasp the fine art pieces that combined life and death. or showed the darker side of marilyn and heaven forbid the nude side. they didn’t seem to understand the fact, that art isn’t always just pretty and happy and beautiful. it can also express pain, suffering, anger, ugliness. it can be an expression of the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. and they clearly didn’t understand hwo the human body can be beautiful. i guess that’s the conservative midwest for ya.
