took a spill. but the macbook is ok.
tonight i took a pretty hard spill. the loud noise i made i think woke people up in china. it was so loud. so i was going down these outdoors stairs and had come across a landing. but since it was dark out i did not see/pay any attention to the rubber door mat that had gridded holes in it. as you can guess, in my baby (1/2 inch) heels, i tripped over the mat and went tumbling down the next set of stairs. thank god there were only 4-5 stairs in that set, i went all the way to the bottom. i went down the whole flight.
as far as injuries go, i came out lucky. in knowing i was going down and knowing my little macbook was in hand, i bent my arm and landed on my right elbow instead on catching myself. clearly, i thought keeping the macbook in the air was more important then my limbs.my elbow has some pretty nice sraps and like carpet burn like feeling going on. my right tailbone took a pretty good beating as well. the worst part is that in all the shock of the tumble, i didn’t even realize my elbow was gushing till i got home which resulted in a mess to clean. my brand new white cardigan from the gap that i had purchased only hours earlier i think may be a goner. between the gross black gunck from the stairs and the blood from my elbow - i think it may be permanently ruined. o well, better that then the laptop or my elbow i guess to declare a goner.
