d@#n ice
i started off the day, by clearing the ginormous tree branch from our driveway. tree branches are heavy to begin with, let alone when they are covered in an inch of ice and frozen to the driveway. ended up running late for work this morning due to that and the half hour it took mike and i to get my car unstuck in the driveway.
i also didn’t realize until i was already on cross county that my windshield wipers were still semi-frozen to the car. they only advanced about 2 inches before taking a long pause and returning back down. let’s just say my visibility significantly decreased by the time i got off the highway. and i trusted the pickup in front of me to stay in the lane prolly a little more then i should have.
but to top off all my ice events today, i put the first scratch in my car on the way home from work trying to get gasoline. i tried to hold out since i knew the sides of my car were still frozen. but the gaslight came on on my way home so i had to stop for gas. which would have been completely fine on a normal day but not on a day when the gas lid is frozen shut. so i prolly did a stupid thing, but what else was i to do. i needed gas. i took a key and chiseled around the lid, which resulted in one scratch on the surface. it’s very tiny, but it still pisses me off. but i have gas now. ugg.
